| What is Activated Carbon?

Activated carbon,abbreviated AC, also known as Activated Charcoal, which is a porous adsorbent with an extensive surface area and highly developed pore structure, widely used in water treatment, air purification, and food processing.

| What is activated carbon made from ?

Activated carbon, active carbon or activated charcoal can be produced from many sources in nature like wood,coconut shells, coal,bamboo making it a versatile and powerful adsorbent. During the production, AC develops thousands of small tiny pores. This means that there is a much larger surface for capturing and removing unwanted material. As a result, it is often used in water washing, air filtration and industrial washing processes.

| What is Activated Carbon Made Of ?

Activated carbon, active carbon or activated charcoal can be produced from many sources in nature, almost all of which are based on wood waste from agricultural and crop products. This widely used product can be produced from, for example, pistachio shells, walnut shells, various types of wood, coconut shells and various other items. An important point is that the properties of carbon depend on the raw material from which it is prepared. For example, coconut shells have a significantly higher porosity than pistachio shells.

Activated carbon operates through physical adsorption, where surface molecules use van der Waals forces to attract and trap pollutant molecules within its pores. This process functions similarly to a magnet attracting iron filings. Activated carbon can adsorb various harmful substances, including:
